The Colorado Plateau is rich with history and culture and is the ancestral homeland of Native peoples since time immemorial. The Grand Canyon Trust and the Grand Staircase Escalante Partners recognize that the conservation movement has not always made space to include the original stewards of this land, the Native peoples. It is time for Native perspectives to be acknowledged and elevated in conservation. The regenerative relationships that Native peoples have with the Natural World, the sacred landscapes where they go to heal and pray are vital not only to their livelihood, but to the future generations. From the Grand Canyon, to Grand Staircase Escalante, to Bears Ears, to Chaco Canyon we seek to elevate Natives voices throughout the Colorado Plateau.
