Meet the Board 

ELENI CONSTANTINE

President

Eleni Constantine is a lawyer who has worked in a variety of federal government and nonprofit positions. Her last job in DC was being on the Treasury transition team that set up the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She is a member of the Telluride Planning and Zoning Board and Secretary of the San Miguel Democratic Party. Eleni loves to hike, ski, swim and cook Indian food.

CORINNE PLATT

Secretary

Corinne landed in Telluride in 1987 with a plan to ski bum for a year and then move on. Twenty-some-odd years later she still lives and works from her home in nearby Ophir. Corinne joined the board of SMA in 2002, inspired in large part by the Valley Floor campaign and SMA’s efforts to preserve it. After six years, she left the board to attend to her baby daughter and publish her first book, Voices of the American West, which won the 2010 Colorado Book Award for nonfiction. The book is a series of portraits of people working on solutions to many of the pressing issues of today’s American West. While her writing spans myriad topics, her passion lies in environmental issues. Most recently, her work has been published in the Patagonia catalog and has touched on such topics as global warming, organic agriculture, fracking and the tar sands pipelines. She is happy to be back on the board of SMA and hopes that Telluride will continue to support—and even increase—its environmental and conservation efforts.

JENNA CICHANSKI

Originally from Seattle, Washington, Jenna has lived in Colorado since 1989. She ski bummed and worked as an Outward Bound instructor in Aspen and farmed in Paonia. Jenna has been visiting Telluride and the surrounding areas for over 20 years and always dreamed of moving here. She made that dream come true when she and her husband Tim moved their kids, Ben and Autumn, to Telluride in 2012. Jenna enjoys nothing more than spending time traveling and exploring the wilderness surrounding Telluride with her family. She believes there is no better education than seeing the world and exploring new places and cultures. Being on the board of SMA will fulfill Jenna’s desire to act locally and protect the landscape that she so loves and calls home.

ERIK DALTON

Originally from Scarsdale, New York, Erik has lived in Telluride since 2003. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and owns and operates the Jagged Edge outdoor retail store on main street in Telluride. Erik has also coached kids in the Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club for the past 10 years.

DREW LUDWIG

Drew Ludwig works in the mountains and in the arts. He is a ski guide for Helitrax, gallery director for Mountainfilm and jack-of-all-trades employee at Telluride Gallery of Fine Art. The native of Grand Junction moved to Telluride in 1999 at the age of 19, left to attend graduate school at the Rhode Island School of Design and returned to the box canyon to make his home. As an artist, he aspires to tease out the connection we all feel to place, and is interested in combining the immediate accessibility of activism with the deeper nuances of fine art. Though drawn to Telluride’s mountains, he also finds peace in Paradox Valley, where he is building an artist space.

MICHAEL GREGORY

Michael Gregory is a documentary filmmaker who lives in Telluride. For the past decade, he has served on the board of the High Mountain Institute, an outdoor semester-term high school based in Leadville, Colorado. He has also served on the board of Rios to Rivers, an exchange program for river and watershed students and activists between the US and Chile.
