Meet Our Staff
Lexi Tuddenham
Executive Director
Originally from Los Angeles, Lexi has been devoted to environmental advocacy, sustainable development, and community resilience throughout her career. After earning her B.S. in biology at Harvard, Lexi moved to China where she worked for the Center for Biodiversity and Indigenous Knowledge. There, she engaged in efforts that advanced sustainable and culturally-sensitive development, focusing on the preservation of both lands and traditional ways of life. She moved to Telluride in 2007, and spent several years working in environmental education and ecology research before heading back to Asia to work for the dZi Foundation. At the dZi Foundation, Lexi helped to develop alternative livelihood strategies in remote villages of eastern Nepal. She has her Master’s in Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, where she focused on environmental justice, studied public health impacts of green space, and conducted research in fishing communities near the proposed Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay, Alaska. She returned to Telluride and in 2016 became the ED of Sheep Mountain Alliance. She is committed to balancing sustainable development and environmental conservation for the long term good of her beloved region. Outside of SMA, Lexi serves as a volunteer EMT, an advocate for a local domestic violence hotline, and an engaged member of the Telluride community.
Mason Osgood
VISTA Community Outreach Coordinator
Mason joins the SMA team as the new Community Outreach VISTA. He grew up in Reno, Nevada and attended Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. After college Mason worked for the American Alpine Club as a policy intern, and served as an AmeriCorps member in Crestone, CO at a rural charter school. Mason brings a passion for environmental policy to SMA and is excited to create relationships and expand programs in the community. In his free time he pursues ultra-running, skiing, and the best sandwich in town.
Kevin Iverson
Energy Coordinator
Born in the Evergreen State of the Pacific North West, Kevin spent his youth skiing and hiking in the Cascade and Olympic Mountain Ranges. Through the Boy Scouts of America his love of nature and time spent in the wilderness was developed; within the Boy Scouts he went on to earn its highest rank of Eagle Scout. Following college at the University of Washington where he earned a degree in Political Science he moved to Telluride for his proverbial "one season". He now works with Sheep Mountain Alliance on energy and public lands issues around the San Juans with hopes of taking that experience and applying it to grad school and earning a Master's of Public Policy.
