State of the San Miguel Watershed Report Released
The San Miguel Watershed Coalition (SMWC) recently released the State of the San Miguel Watershed 2014. The report is an assessment of the ecological health within the drainage area of the San Miguel River. Coordinated by the San Miguel Watershed Coalition, it was developed in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, U.S. Forest Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Colorado State Forest Service, Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Colorado Department of Public Health and Mountain Studies Institute.“After close coordination with our agency partners, we are pleased to present this State of the San Miguel Watershed report” stated Deanna Drew, president of San Miguel Watershed Coalition. “We intend for this report to initiate dialogue between the communities of the watershed, agency land managers and other stakeholders so that together, we can make informed decisions regarding the health of the San Miguel watershed.”The report and a summary are available at Watershed Report.
